White flight — to Russia?

Russia may well be the last country that says, “We’re white and that’s the way we’re staying.”  This gets me to thinking, how can Putin put that situation to his most disruptive advantage?  You just know Putin is wondering the same thing, if he hasn’t already settled on an answer to that question.

Here is one possible idea: A special whites-only program to encourage immigration from the U.S. to Russia.  This could include special help in finding jobs and housing as well as Russian literacy classes.  You think I am nuts?  Sure, I might be.  But consider these tidbits: Russia is the largest country in the world by area, but ranks only ninth in population.  They have lots of space.  That population rank is misleading though, as Russia is one of the few countries with a declining population.  Its population has dropped by an estimated 2.3 million people in just the last three years.

Putin could even enhance the program by giving special preferences to would-be immigrants with specific knowledge and skills that would help the Russian economy.  People with backgrounds in areas like computer technology and fossil fuel exploration and drilling might find themselves receiving additional signing bonuses and accelerated paths to full citizenship.  There are many ways the Russians could sweeten the pot and drain away some skills and brains from the U.S.  It might be quite easy to make a bunch of white supremacist Americans feel quite happy and comfortable in comparatively lily-white Russia.

Of course, this is pure speculation.  However, as the U.S. population becomes ever less white, Trump’s racist base may find themselves embracing Putin and Russia even more than Trump has.

Donald Trump: Turd

Donald J. Trump, the illegitimately elected president of the United States, has proven, once and for all, that he is a big orange turd dropped directly from the asshole of Satan.  I will not defile this blog with his tweet this morning about U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.).  You have probably heard or read it by now anyway.  I will just say that this sexist, women-hating, ignorant pig-boy has no business holding any public office whatsoever.  He is president now thanks to Russian interference in our election process, he remains in power because the other members of his party are more interested in their power than their country, he has obstructed justice, shit on the First Amendment, and betrayed the people who voted for him.  He needs to resign immediately.  If he will not resign, he needs to be legally removed, either by impeachment or by the mechanism in the 25th Amendment.

Another aspect of election interference by Russia.

I have been thinking about the 2016 election.  Clearly, the Russians wanted Trump to beat Clinton in 2016, few people besides Trump’s tweets doubt that these days. U.S. intelligence agencies agree that the Russians interfered with the election in multiple ways designed to undermine the Clinton campaign.

However, there is an element to all the talk about Trump/Russia collusion that I have not heard anybody mention.  What about the Republican primary process?  It wasn’t simply that the Russians wanted Clinton to lose, they also wanted their boy, Putin’s would-be sock puppet Trump to win.  So, don’t you wonder how much effort the Russians put in to making sure Trump won the nomination?  It takes no stretch of the imagination at all to see how the same techniques that were applied to undermining Clinton could be used against Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, or Chris Christi.  Did the Russians take active steps to help wreck the candidacies of Ted Cruz, Carly Fiorina, and Rick Santorum?  Did the Russians manipulate Republican primary voters the way they manipulated the electorate for the general election?

Is it possible that the entire Republican Party on the national scale is just a big Russian puppet show?  That would go a long way to explaining why the Republicans cannot get one damned thing on their agenda accomplished.  Their near total paralysis totally suits the Russian goal of disempowering the U.S. in world affairs.

Just something to think about…

The value of that Russian meeting.

There is a great Perspective article in The Washington Post explaining the ways in which that now notorious meeting that Trump Jr./Manafort/Kushner had with the Russians in June, 2016 was anything but nothing.  It is written by a former CIA intelligence officer and it clearly and concisely lays out the way the meeting conformed to standard Russian tradecraft and the value that it brought to the Russians.  Very well worth the read.

Trump Jr.’s Russia meeting sure sounds like a Russian intelligence operation
